LAMPTURE

For the Final Project for 2D Design, we have to form a group and present a work that contains texture, texture and more texture! The moment I’d looked into the topic I remembered way back during Semester 1’s trip when we were given a task by Mr Ernesto search for various types of texture. I admit it did helped.

So all of us decided to make 4 types of lamps (From dimmed to light) that each has its own unique texture. Even the lamp stand! The lamp stand is made by using paper clay and as for the design, hand (pun intended) made! We used our finger prints and thumbs for the texture

First we have the Japanese Lantern inspired lamp. We used the ‘satay’ sticks to have the bamboo effect. The pattern of the top of the lamp is also inspired by the Japanese sliding doors (Shoji).

Second we have the Potpourri Silhouette lampshade. You could see those little pink coloured potpourri we have put inside the lamp. When you turn it on, you could see the silhouette of it.

The third one is the Rose Wood Roses Lampshade. The shape is quite fresh to see right? Though you can’t see it from the photo, we have put dried roses for some of the bottom parts of the lampshade.

The last one is my favourite; Crystal Diamond Lampshade. I’d like to share with you something. This last lampshade was purely made by accident. We were actually done with lamps until we started playing with the glue gun with the PVC sheet until that light bulb(pun intended HAHA)
in our heads was turn on. BAM! We decided to end our lamp series with this simple yet sophisticated design. It has wintery effect don’t you think?
